Look at Me! (New Baby)
The bond between a new baby and its sibling is always special and uniquely rewarding. Sometimes, however, it is difficult to adapt to the baby's wants and needs! A new addition to any family is exciting, but the experience can also be worrying and confusing for siblings. Coping with the new situations and emotions that arise can be very challenging. This series of four board books deals with the anticipation of waiting for the new baby, the excitement of the arrival itself, and the beginnings of the special relationship that develops between siblings. The simple conversational text and lively illustrations are carefully designed to encourage further dialogue between reader and child.
what's in a name...
Baby if you've got to go away
I don't think
I can take the pain
Won't you stay another day
Oh, don't leave me alone like this
Don't say it's the final kiss
Won't you stay another day
East 17 - Stay Another Day
The lyrics sound so lame.... but the music is beautifully calming and soothing. I admit, I dig this kind of boyband pop... To a certain point. And yes... I know most of the early Backstreet Boys songs by heart. Oh the good ol' 90's.
For some reason I have this one stuck in my head and can't seem to get rid of it. Haven't heard it in years and then today I found myself humming the chorus. Scary how the mind works, just digs up some remains from an ancient past. What does my brain have in store for me tomorrow...? Something more 'cool', I hope.
All this has really nothing to do with this photo, even if I it was my ear worm while I shot it. Funny how everything looks so autumny, it was a lot greyer on set (dang I feel like a pro using that word.. please, don't be fooled, I know you might.... Borat: "not"), a lot wintrier and terribly dark.
I just looked at the weather forecast and it promises some sunshine on Sunday (how appropriate, sun on Sunday). Yeah! Haven't seen the sun in weeks and have to put lights on inside at 10 am because of the protrude darkness. But there's this one thing... I'm working on Sunday 7-19.
So weather, go on and stuck yourself up someones arse, will ya. *goes and buys more D-vitamin and fish liver oil*
While this is an old picture, I spent the last weekend with this adorable little baby. I second shot a wedding with her mommy in Kansas City this past weekend, which was super fun. However, an eight hour road trip in the car with a three month old quickly turns into a twelve hour road trip :)
It's been a busy few weeks as I mentioned a few pictures ago - in the last two weeks, I've spent significant amounts of time in Indiana, Wisconsin, Illinois, Kansas, and Missouri. I finally get a day off this weekend. I'm debating between sleeping and photo-editing.
Also, completely unrelated... what are your thoughts on a Facebook fan pages for photography? Worth the time spent updating it? Do people really look at them? I don't really want something else to keep updated, but it seems like everyone spends copious amounts of time on Facebook.

Having a sense of humor is essential to health, says singer-songwriter Carla Ulbrich, who has found laughter to be a lifesaver during tough times. Under the stress of multiple illnesses and constant health ''care,'' Ulbrich one day snapped and became the Singing Patient. She channeled her hard won victories, set about reclaiming her health, and penned How Can You NOT Laugh at a Time Like This?, a collection of short, inspiring, funny essays that help people thrive and celebrate life despite illness.
As Ulbrich spins her tale (and shares some songs), she lampoons common fears and prejudices about illness and lovingly lambastes the foibles of the medical industry. She offers heartfelt and humorous advice for navigating mainstream and alternative therapies, and she guides partners, families, and friends who wish to help their loved ones. Her candid insights, wisecracking commentary, handy lists, hilarious song lyrics, and gentle camaraderie will put a smile on the face of anyone who wants to face illness with courage and humor.
